Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) is the largest shipbuilding and maintenance facility in India. It is part of a line of maritime-related facilities in the port-city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India.The shipyard builds platform supply vessels and double-hulled oil tankers. It has built big vessels up to 1,20,000 DWT capacity, making it the leading shipyard in India in terms of capacity. The company has Miniratna status.
Positions :- Trade/Technician/Graduate Apprentice
Job Location :- Kochi
Stipend :-
- Graduate Apprentice: ₹ 12,000/- & Meal’s allowance
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: ₹ 10,200/- & Meal’s allowance
- ITI Trade Apprentices: ₹ 8,000/- & Meals allowance
Qualification :-
Graduate Apprentice:
- A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University in relevant discipline.
- A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an Institution empowered to grant such degree by an Act of Parliament in relevant discipline.
- Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.
- Some Universities/Institutes/Examination Boards do not award Class or Percentage of marks and allot Aggregate Grade Points (e.g. CGPA/OGPA/CPI, etc.).
- In case University/Institute/Examination Board defines criteria for conversion of Aggregate Grade Point into Class and/or percentage of marks,
the same shall be accepted. However, where the University/ Institute/Examination does not define criteria for conversion of Aggregate Grade Point into Class and/or percentage of marks, the Aggregate Grade Points shall be multiplied by 10 to get the required percentage of marks
Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:
- A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government in relevant discipline.
- A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a University in relevant discipline.
- A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.
ITI Trade Apprentices:
- Pass in X standard
- Pass in ITI in the concerned trade (National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the designated trades -refer Table 1)
- Trades:
- Diesel Mechanics/Bench Fitters/Instrument Mechanics
- Electricians
- Welders
- Plumbers

Selection Process :-
- Short-listing of candidates will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification applicable to the respective discipline and trades. In case, same percentage of marks is secured by more than one candidate in prescribed qualification, relative merit shall be decided based on seniority in age.
- Shortlisted candidates shall be intimated through the registered email Id and will have to appear for verification of following certificates: –
- Print out of application form (possessing unique registration number) duly signed,
- Original certificates towards proof of age, qualification, caste, disability (if any) etc
- Self-attested copies of all certificates mentioned at ‘b’ above
How to Apply :-
Graduate/Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Interested and eligible candidates can register on NATS Portal and apply online on or before 30 January 2025.
ITI Trade Apprentices: Applicants should fill in the application form (Annexure I) with recent passport size photograph pasted and e-mail the scanned copies of signed application form along with supporting documents to the e-mail ID career@udupicsl.com on or before 30 January 2025.
